TLT takes part in Business Action on Homelessness programme
On 11th February and 1st March TLT is hosting part of the Business Action on Homelessness training programme.
Business Action on Homelessness (BAOH) was set up in 1998 with the aim of engaging companies to help people who have been homeless to gain and sustain employment.
The people on the campaign are 'hidden homeless', i.e. not sleeping rough but living in hostels or other forms of temporary accommodation. They all share the aim of wanting to change their lives by returning to work but often lack the confidence and the know how to achieve this for themselves. They are of all ages and experiences – including young people fending for themselves without family support and graduates who have suffered personal crises – loss of career, family etc.
In the past year the Bristol campaign has helped 40% of BAOH's clients to secure employment, making a real difference to individual lives and having a positive impact on the local community. This dovetails into TLT's social corporate responsibility initiative and the development of soft skills of our employees.
Robert Bourns, TLT's Senior Partner says "The BAOH training programme provides an excellent opportunity for our staff to gather insight and develop or practice skills that will be of use to them in the business."
