Charles is a partner in our Finance Litigation team.

He specialises in finance litigation with particular expertise in cross-border disputes including claims under guarantees, contentious regulatory matters, trade finance and ship finance disputes, derivatives disputes, disputes under syndicated facilities, fraud and international commercial arbitration as well contractual disputes, agency disputes and negligence.

Charles has 20 years' experience acting in international disputes involving banks, financial institutions, trading and manufacturing companies, investment funds, underwriters and brokers. The proceedings have involved High Court litigation, domestic and international arbitration and mediation.

Charles qualified in 1990 and is a solicitor-advocate (civil), an accredited mediator and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and sits on the ICC UK Committee for Banking Technique and Practice. Charles trained at Ince & Co later moving to Cameron McKenna where he was a partner in the Dispute Resolution team before joining TLT in 2006.
