A consultant with the firm, Richard is a pensions specialist of long standing. He has been advising employers and scheme trustees since 1985 on all aspects of pensions law, and is an expert on pension scheme mergers and restructuring, money purchase and career average schemes, and in dealing with the pensions aspects of corporate transactions. His other areas of expertise include dealing with Ombudsman complaints, scheme wind-ups, conflicts of interest and trustee protection. He also heads the firm's Pensions Investment team.
Richard has contributed to the Pensions Factbook, Ellison's Pensions Law & Practice, and also to various pensions journals. He is a frequent speaker at seminars and conferences, and a regular contributor to the NAPF's Trustee Training programme. He is a full member of the Association of Pensions Lawyers and was a member of their Education and Seminars Committee for four years.
Richard joined TLT from Eversheds in 2003 and is recommended as a 'Leader in the Field' of Pensions by leading legal guide Chambers UK.
The team was a finalist for the Employment, Pensions, Benefits & Tax Team of the Year at the 2007 British Legal Awards.
