About Resolution

All lawyers in our family team are members of Resolution, an organisation that encourages a constructive, non-confrontational approach to family law. Resolution also campaigns for improvements to the family justice system and several of our lawyers are members of national committees.

The family team follow the Resolution Code of Practice which includes encouraging clients to put the best interests of the children first, avoiding the use of inflammatory language and ensuring that consideration is given to balancing the benefits of any steps against the likely costs - financial or emotional. We recognise that legal action is not always the answer and will always discuss alternatives such as mediation and collaborative law with our clients.

Through this approach, we help our clients find sensible and cost effective solutions, avoiding court proceedings if possible. In fact, over 90% of cases handled by Resolution lawyers are settled by agreement.
