TLT retains 100% of newly qualified trainee solicitors
11 March 2011
National law firm TLT has maintained its high retention rate by once again offering positions to all five of its trainee solicitors qualifying in March.
Emily Dunford, Yanna Ekaterinis, Ro Pettifer, Toby Price and Jenny Tugman are all being retained by the firm after completing their training contracts. They will join TLT's banking litigation, financial services regulatory, professional negligence, banking & asset finance and commercial dispute resolution teams which are based across the firm's Bristol and London
offices.
TLT announces its retention of trainees each March and September. The firm's overall retention rate for 2010/11 is 90%. In September 2010 all trainees were offered permanent positions, however one trainee was unable to accept due to relocation.
The top 100 law firm is also welcoming seven new trainee solicitors to its training scheme. Laura Fitzpatrick, David Maton, Nick Middleton, Tristan Smale, Hugh Smith, Jennifer Temblett and Caroline Urban start their training contracts in March.
The new trainees will be working in various teams across TLT's Bristol and London offices over the next two years. The firm has trainee intakes every March and September and currently has 29 trainee solicitors working through their training contracts.
Training Partner, Maria Connolly, says, "The success of our trainees is vital to the success of the firm, which is why TLT provides them with a clear career development path and invests heavily in them to make the most out of their potential. I'm delighted that we have yet again retained 100% of our qualifying trainees and to welcome Laura, David, Nick, Tristan, Hugh, Jennifer and Caroline to TLT."
Trainees at TLT gain first-hand experience of the law and advising TLT’s clients, which include FTSE-listed and national and international businesses, such as EDF Energy, Punch Taverns, Nationwide, Triodos Bank, WHSmith, Barclays Bank, the Co-operative Group and the Metropolitan Police Authority.
TLT's HR Director, Graham de Guise, comments, "It's no secret that it is increasingly difficult for some law firms to offer permanent roles to all trainees, making our 100% retention a real sign of the quality within TLT. We offer a superb working environment at TLT and I look forward to seeing how our newly qualified solicitors and our new trainees develop their careers with the firm."
The news comes after a successful 12 months for the firm in which it was named as one of the top five UK legal employers by legal trade publication, Legal Week and has just been accredited as a Best Company to work for 2011 by Best Companies Limited who carry out the research for the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies list.
