TLT maintains high retention rate of trainee solicitors

06 September 2011

National law firm TLT has maintained its high retention rate by offering roles to almost 90 per cent of its trainee solicitors qualifying in September.

Duncan Coats, Kate Langton, Fiona Leitch, Alex Mills, Alex Murdie, Peter Skeen, Lizzie Stone and Nicola Warner are all being retained by the firm after completing their training contracts.

Trainees at TLT complete their two-year contracts every March and September and the announcement means that the firm has retained 93% of trainees who have qualified in 2011.

The newly qualified solicitors will join TLT's employment, real estate, corporate, construction, banking & asset finance, pensions & incentives and family teams which are based across the firm's Bristol and London offices.

TLT is also welcoming five new trainee solicitors to its training scheme. Georgina Applegate, Danielle Flack, Tim Needle, Ben Player and Sarah Rees-Leonard join the firm this month.

The new trainees will be working in various teams across TLT's Bristol and London offices over the next two years. TLT currently has 25 trainee solicitors working through their training contracts.

Deputy Training Partner, Andrew Webber, says, "These figures reflect our commitment to attracting and retaining some of the best talent in the industry. I'm delighted that even amidst uncertain market conditions, TLT continues to nurture talent."

Trainees at TLT gain first-hand experience of the law and advising TLT’s clients, which include FTSE-listed and national and international businesses, such as EDF Energy, Punch Taverns, Nationwide, Triodos Bank, WHSmith, Barclays Bank, the Co-operative Group and the Metropolitan Police Authority.

TLT has secured a reputation as one of the best legal employers in the UK. The firm was named in 2010 as one of the top five UK legal employers by legal trade publication, Legal Week, and has been accredited as a Best Company to work for in 2011 by Best Companies Limited who carry out the research for the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies list.
