TLT advises on construction of wind turbines at Africa Alive! wildlife park
28 March 2011
National law firm TLT has advised Triodos Renewables, an independent Plc which invests in the renewable energy sector, on the acquisition and construction of two wind turbines at Kessingland Wind Farm in Suffolk. The two turbines will adjoin the Africa Alive! wildlife park, with one turbine on the park itself and the other on land owned by a neighbouring farmer.
The turbines are being developed by Triodos Renewables with the support of project managers EcoGen and are expected to start providing energy to the national grid by the summer. Expected output will be approximately 14GWh, enough to power nearly 3,000 homes with green electricity.
TLT has leading expertise in the renewables sector and provided legal advice relating to the acquisition, construction and funding arrangements for the Kessingland wind farm project.
Maria Connolly, head of TLT's renewables sector says, "Kessingland Wind Farm is an exciting project and will contribute to the significant growth in the production of renewable energy within the UK. TLT is recognised for having the necessary experience to deliver advice throughout the whole lifecycle of any renewables project. Our specialist expertise means that we are one of only a few UK law firms that has the capability to advise companies like Triodos Renewables on making schemes like this a reality."
Triodos Renewables owns a number of renewable energy projects across the country, including nearby Lowestoft’s ‘Gulliver’ which is one of the UK's tallest wind turbines. Triodos Renewables is managed by Triodos Bank.
TLT recently advised Triodos Bank on a deal leading to the installation of the biggest privately owned photovoltaic (PV) generating system in the UK, at Worthy Farm, the home of Glastonbury Festival.
