TLT advises Ecotricity on major bond scheme

14 December 2011
National law firm TLT has advised the UK's the largest independent renewable electricity producer Ecotricity, on its bond issue which will raise up to £10million to invest in new renewable energy projects.

Richard Tall

Ecobond Two enables any UK-based individuals, companies, trusts, charities and other legal entities to invest directly in building new sources of green energy in the UK.

Ecotricity first issued ecobonds in 2010 which helped fund a solar park and turbines at two factories. The bonds were heavily oversubscribed at the time and exceeded the £10 million target by 50%.

TLT's corporate team, led by partner Richard Tall, advised on the bond issue.

Richard Tall says, "This is a significant fundraising opportunity for Ecotricity and the proceeds of the issue will be used to fund further renewables projects over the coming year, to supplement the existing Ecotricity portfolio of 53 turbines across 17 wind farms."

TLT has a specialist energy team consisting of legal experts in corporate, project finance, commercial, construction, environment, health & safety, planning and property law, providing a full range of commercial legal services to clients including Triodos Renewables, Triodos Bank, REG Windpower, SLP Energy, Wind Ventures, Green Home Company, Britannia Solar, RidgeWind, Coronation Power and Renewable Energy Partnerships. Earlier this year the firm advised Triodos Renewables, on its prospectus to raise up to £15million to invest in new renewable energy projects.

TLT's corporate team acts for an impressive list of UK and international clients from FTSE listed Plcs through to venture capitalists, banks and other financial institutions.
