TLT wins European awards for people development and working environment

TLT has won awards for its people development programmes and its new City premises, beating stiff competition from professional services firms across Europe. TLT has won two awards and come second in a further category at this year's Managing Partners' Forum (MPF) European Practice Management Awards held in London on 14th October. National broadcaster John Humphrys presented the awards.

TLT won the 'Learning Programme' award for its Aspire development programme for associates and its Tto2 programme for trainees and solicitors up to two year's qualified. This award recognises people development programmes which have a clear analysis of training and education needs and are focused on business success and personal learning.

TLT stands out from many other law firms by offering its associates a bespoke development programme. Aspire has been developed by TLT's management team in conjunction with world-class training and development consultants, including an Olympic coach. Tto2 is a truly innovative training programme, which supports the personal and professional development of trainees and junior solicitors and enables them to nurture relationships with referrers at an early stage, with the aim of developing long-term, reciprocal business relationships.

TLT won the 'Smart Workplace' award for its brand new, light and spacious open plan environment at 20 Gresham Street in the heart of the City of London. The award recognises the intelligent use of space to deliver commercial success and measurable business benefit. TLT agreed a 10-year lease on 24,557 square foot of office space, effectively doubling TLT's capacity in London whilst reducing the firm's cost base in the capital. The investment demonstrates TLT's intention to extend its service offering and further develop its capability in London.

TLT came second in the 'People Management' category, which recognises firms whose initiatives have helped create a committed, engaged and effective workforce.

The European Practice Management Awards programme is managed by the Managing Partners' Forum, a member-led professional body, dedicated to enhancing leadership and the status of the management team in professional firms worldwide. The awards programme is the only competition to focus on the contribution of different disciplines to managing a professional firm.
