TLT appointed to local authority's new legal panel

27 January 2010

Award winning law firm TLT has been appointed to the newly created legal panel of the UK’s largest local authority Birmingham City Council. TLT is one of only 13 firms appointed to the innovative four-year legal panel and is one of only a few firms which will provide specialist legal advice in planning.

The Birmingham City Council panel is open to 38 regional and national local authorities such as Herefordshire County Council, the London Borough of Hackney and Wolverhampton City Council. Birmingham City Council has also extended an invitation to every other local authority in England and Wales to use its legal panel, without incurring the associated procurement costs.

Partner and head of TLT’s Planning and Environment team Katherine Evans says, “TLT has a very strong public sector offering and we are delighted to be part of this exciting new way of providing legal services. We are experienced in driving efficiencies and delivering real value.”

TLT has a dedicated Planning team that works in conjunction with its wider Real Estate group, advising on a wide variety of planning issues including large residential and commercial developments, social housing projects and regeneration, town and village greens, and mineral extraction.

The firm is rapidly growing a national reputation for advising central and local government and other public bodies including the Metropolitan Police Authority, Covent Garden Market Authority, British Waterways Board, and the recently established legal panel of the London Boroughs Legal Alliance.
