TLT advises on cutting edge solar energy schemes

25 October 2010

National law firm TLT has been appointed to advise TIF Group on its major solar photovoltaic (PV) energy schemes being planned for the UK.

Solar PV, a method of generating electrical power by converting solar radiation into direct current electricity, is the fastest growing power-generation technology in the world.

TIF Group, which specialises in the installation and management of solar photovoltaic micro-generation sites and has completed over 70 installations in four countries, is committed to increasing clean energy production in the UK.

TLT's head of renewable energy, partner Maria Connolly, is leading the TLT team which has prepared the project documentation to enable TIF to acquire sites and agree terms for the new installations.

Maria Connolly says, "With rapidly advancing technology, increasing manufacturing capability and growing consumer demand for solar PV, this is a very exciting area to be in and TLT is one of only a few UK law firms with the specialist expertise to advise on such cutting edge renewable energy schemes. We're delighted to be working with TIF Group."

TLT has a strong focus on the renewable energy sector, acting for lenders and developers in connection with wind-farm and other renewable energy projects, including drafting and negotiating key documents, due diligence and funding issues. TLT is currently advising a number of clients on proposals to install new PV capacity with the support of Feed-In Tariffs.
