Strong showing from TLT in latest legal guide

06 September 2010

Independent guide to the legal market, Legal 500 UK, has praised TLT's "highly experienced" lawyers in its newly published 2010 edition.

The firm is recommended in 33 practice areas and has received top tier rankings for its corporate recovery and insolvency, debt recovery, employment, intellectual property/ information technology, and pensions work. TLT has achieved further strong rankings in commercial litigation, corporate and commercial, corporate tax, energy, EU and competition, licensing, media and entertainment, planning, and social housing.

TLT is newly recognised in London for its financial services, renewables, and professional negligence expertise, reflecting the firm's rapidly growing presence in London following the firm's move to brand new City premises, which have doubled TLT's capacity in London whilst reducing the firm's London cost base. Last year the guide acknowledged the firm's "rapid emergence in the City.

Seven of TLT's partners have been recognised by the guide as experts in their respective fields. Sasha Butterworth (pensions), Peter Carney (corporate recovery and insolvency), Bill Hull (EU & competition), Julia Lucas (leisure), Philip May (corporate recovery and insolvency), David Pester (Managing Partner and corporate), and John Wood (corporate) are all recognised as 'Leading Individuals'.

Managing Partner David Pester says, "TLT's growing national reputation has clearly been recognised in this latest review of the UK legal market. It's been another strong year and our investment in new offices in the heart of the City is helping to attract new clients and new talent and the three new rankings in London are testament to this."

"We've had some key wins in the last year, for example securing an important panel appointment to The Co-operative Group's commercial legal panel, and we're delighted that the firm's areas of strength and expertise are reflected in this independent endorsement by the Legal 500 guide."

Legal 500 UK is an annual guide to the legal marketplace used by clients and buyers of legal services. It ranks law firms and lawyers across legal specialisms and geographic regions, identifying the most highly respected legal professionals in their areas of expertise. Legal 500 is compiled by independent researchers who conduct interviews with lawyers, clients and other professionals to help identify the strengths and capabilities of UK law firms across the multitude of legal practice specialisms.
