TLT welcomes new trainees

25 September 2009

Award-winning law firm TLT is welcoming nine new trainee solicitors to the firm's training scheme. Helen Clayton, Duncan Coats, Fiona Leitch, Kate Langton, Alexandra Mills, Alexander Murdie, Peter Skeen, Elizabeth Stone and Nicola Warner start their two-year training contract at the firm this month.

The new trainees will initially join TLT's banking and financial services litigation, commercial dispute resolution, commercial property, corporate finance and family law teams at the firm's Bristol and London offices.

Each trainee will spend six months in a different specialist team, getting first hand experience of the law and advising TLT's clients under expert supervision. They will benefit from a designated trainee supervisor, regular partner contact and comprehensive technical and skills training. The training is broad-ranging and includes professional as well as legal skills courses and involves direct contact with referrers and key clients. Trainees are also actively encouraged to participate in the firm's environmental and charity work.

TLT currently has 25 trainee solicitors participating in the training scheme, which is heavily oversubscribed and enjoys a very high retention rate.

TLT is one of only a handful of the UK's top 100 law firms that is offering jobs to all of its trainees qualifying in September 2009. The six trainees qualifying in September join TLT's professional negligence, employment, corporate recovery & insolvency, planning & development and commercial property teams.

TLT's Training Principal and Partner Maria Connolly says, "TLT has a strong reputation as an innovative and ambitious law firm and to help us achieve our goals we employ talented, highly-motivated and commercially-minded individuals with a passion for delivering excellent client service. We invest heavily in our people through rewards and benefits and training and development to ensure that they are able to fulfil their potential and achieve their professional and personal goals".
