TLT to host charity art exhibition on 4th November
18 October 2009
A team of TLT employees who are taking part in the Million Makers challenge, a national competition to raise £1 million for the Prince’s Trust, is hosting a charity art exhibition. Local Bristol artists will be displaying and selling their artwork at law firm TLT’s One Redcliff Street office from 6pm on Wednesday 4th November.
The exhibition, organised by Team Shine and named “Time to Shine – An evening of art”, will include photography, professional paintings and greeting cards and will feature artists whom have been funded by the Prince’s Trust. All of the artists have agreed to donate a percentage of their sales on the night to the charity. Artist Emily Petherick received financial and advisory support from the charity to set up her glass business. Emily comments, “I am delighted to have been asked to show my work at the exhibition. The Prince's Trust has been a huge support to me - both personally and professionally."
The art exhibition is sponsored by Smith & Williamson and made possible by The Art Warehouse Limited and Framing Factory and Arts & Business. James Taljaard from Arts & Business is delighted to work with TLT to help with their challenge for the Prince's Trust. He comments, “They have created an inspirational and exciting event using the visual arts.”
TLT’s senior partner Robert Bourns comments, "The Prince's Trust does an excellent job of giving practical and financial support to the young people who need it most and TLT is delighted to be a part of the Million Makers challenge. The opportunity to see TLT people developing their team working, project management and other skills in the process is a real bonus."
The Prince’s Trust Million Makers competition challenges teams of employees to turn an initial investment of £1,500 into a profit of at least £10,000. Teams do this by planning, promoting and implementing mini enterprises. A host of teams from across the UK are competing against each other to make the most profit. TLT has two teams participating in the challenge, which have raised over £3,500 since the challenge started in July 2009.
The event is free to attend, however a donation of £5 is recommended. For more information or to register your place, please contact Mark Holl.
