TLT expands its social housing capability in London

15 December 2009

Award-winning top 100 law firm TLT is significantly expanding its social housing capability in London with the appointment of property and social housing specialist Kate Silverman. The appointment enables TLT to provide a considerably enhanced social housing offering to clients from its London office, complementing its existing offering from Bristol.

Kate joins TLT's London office from Lewis Silkin where she was a senior associate. She will be advising registered providers, local authorities and other public sector bodies on development, regeneration and property management matters.

Kate's appointment reflects the growing success of the London-based arm of TLT's social housing team and follows a series of client and panel wins for TLT including the London Boroughs' Legal Alliance (LBLA), London Borough of Lambeth, Origin Housing Group, and the Metropolitan Police Authority.

At TLT Kate will work closely with partner and head of TLT's social housing team in London, Lynne Murray, who specialises in the constitutional, regulatory, governance, funding and structuring aspects of social housing matters. Commenting on the news, Lynne Murray says "Kate's appointment puts us in an excellent position to provide our registered social housing landlord, private developer and local authority clients with the full complement of property, finance, regulatory and governance expertise to meet their needs in this active and ever-changing sector."

TLT's partner-led social housing team has a strong track record and recently completed a £220 million housing and regeneration scheme for Swan Housing Group, one of the largest residential schemes on the Thames Gateway.

The team focuses on delivering very high quality, bespoke advice on major project and regeneration work and development programme delivery and strategic partnering to various clients including Swan Housing Group, Bedfordshire Pilgrims Housing Association, Catalyst Housing Group and the London Borough of Lewisham. TLT is the only approved partner for Just Housing, a well known industry members organisation and consultancy.
