12 September 2008
An independent guide to the legal market has praised TLT, describing the firm's lawyers as "highly responsive", "extremely knowledgeable", "keen, competitive and commercial" and having an "excellent understanding of client needs".
The Legal 500 UK 2008 directory, which was published this week, recognises TLT as a "regional heavyweight" stating that the firm is "a major player in the South West . . .with top-tier practices in employment, pensions, family and debt recovery. It is recommended in property finance and social housing, and also for asset finance and shipping following its merger with niche maritime and international trade firm Constant and Constant in 2007."
The guide has recommended TLT in the specialist legal practice areas of corporate and commercial, corporate tax, EU & competition, licensing, commercial litigation, debt recovery, banking & finance, corporate recovery & insolvency, health and safety, employment, pensions, professional negligence, charities, family, personal tax, trusts & probate, PFI, commercial property, construction, environment, planning, property litigation, social housing, intellectual property and information technology, media and entertainment, asset finance & leasing (including ship finance), property finance and shipping.
The number of recognised legal experts at the firm has nearly doubled in 12 months, reflecting the firm's rapidly expanding expertise. Sasha Butterworth (pensions), Peter Carney (corporate recovery and insolvency) and John Wood (corporate finance) have been newly recognised as leading experts in their particular areas, joining David Pester (Managing Partner and corporate finance), Bill Hull (EU & competition), Julia Lucas (real estate) and Philip May (corporate recovery and insolvency) as 'Leading Individuals'.
Managing Partner David Pester says, " Our increasing strength as a leader in the South West market and our growing presence in London has clearly been recognised in this latest review of the UK legal market. Our legal services are delivered by talented people with a passion for client service and this independent endorsement of their expertise is well deserved."
