TLT recognised as a great place to train
11 November 2008
The Lex 100, an independent guide to UK law firms for students, has praised award-winning law firm TLT for the experience it offers to trainee lawyers during their training contract with the firm. The guide described the firm as "intelligent and high-achieving but with a relaxed attitude".
Independent researchers from the guide conducted anonymous surveys with trainees across the UK to get a true representation of their training experiences at their respective firms. TLT received a good ranking in all areas (scoring 8 out of 10 or above), but was particularly highly rated for quality of work, job satisfaction, friendliness, its vacation scheme, great social life and for living up to trainee's expectations.
Feedback from TLT's trainees revealed that they felt that the firm provided a "down-to-earth yet interesting and ambitious environment, with a healthy work/life balance". Trainees also praised the "good choice of seats, the wide client base, the friendly staff and the good location". Trainees advised the researchers that "TLT shows the same caring and supportive attitude towards staff and clients" with one the best things about the firm being "the way it goes the extra mile to understand its clients' businesses."
HR Director Graham de Guise says, "We are really pleased that the Lex 100 survey has recognised the quality of the training environment we have created at TLT. "Our trainees play an important role in the future of our business and we invest in their development at every level. It's particularly pleasing to know that our trainees are genuinely enjoying developing their career at TLT and would recommend us to their peers."
Trainees at TLT benefit from broad-ranging experience and comprehensive technical and skills training as well as regular partner contact and a designated trainee supervisor who’s always there for help and advice. The training itself is delivered through four seats of six months' duration. The firm has just launched a new buddying scheme which aims to provide each trainee with the support, advice, encouragement and knowledge of an experienced mentor. TLT recruits up to 20 trainees in March and September. For further information visit www.TLTcareers.co.uk
