Leading law firm creates a huge stir with charity partnership
12 August 2008
Macmillan Cancer Support, the charity that takes an holistic approach to supporting people living with cancer, through medical, emotional, practical and financial support is launching a new partnership with top 100 law firm, TLT.
TLT, which has its headquarters in Bristol, will start its partnership with the charity by taking part in Macmillan’s flagship event, the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on 26 September. TLT's 650 staff will help to raise vital funds by baking and selling cakes for both staff and visitors to enjoy with a cuppa.
TLT spokesperson, Karen Andrews said, “TLT staff overwhelmingly chose to support Macmillan as our charity of the year for 2008. The charity does a huge amount of work to support people with cancer although everyone knows them primarily for the Macmillan nurses. We are really pleased to be taking part in coffee morning and hope everyone in Bristol will follow our example as we know what a difference this event can make.”
Macmillan's Fundraising Manager, Jo Hillis says, “We are really pleased to be working with TLT and it is good to know that even a busy law firm is able to take a break to support us with the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. We hope their example will stir people into action to join us and hold their own coffee morning, helping us to raise £120,000 to boost local services.
Macmillan Cancer Support provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support to people living with cancer. The money raised from the event last year has helped to provide increased medical services in the Bristol area as well providing grants to help support patients with the financial burden that a cancer diagnosis can bring.
