TLT named 'Law Firm of the Year'
16 October 2011
National law firm TLT has been named 'Law Firm of The Year' at the Bristol Law Society Awards 2011.
TLT was awarded the prestigious title following a year where the firm delivered strong financial results, won several household name clients, and continued to recruit and retain talent. The award comes in a year where TLT secured its reputation as one of the most innovative law firms in Europe (Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Report 2011) and as one of the best legal employers in the UK following an accreditation from The Best Companies Limited, which carries out the research for the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies list.
The award is recognition of the high calibre of work the firm handles. In the last year TLT has been appointed or reappointed to several key panels including Barclays Bank's litigation and corporate recovery panels, The Co-operative Group's commercial legal panel, and global construction company Interserve's property panel. The firm also continues to advise FTSE-listed companies and household names including WHSmith, Triodos Bank, Merlin Entertainments, Punch Taverns and Ecotricity.
TLT's senior partner Robert Bourns says, "We are delighted to have received this recognition. Bristol Law Society works hard to promote Bristol as a centre of legal excellence, providing a valuable line of communication with external agencies and organisations beyond the interests of any individual firm. To that extent it supplements and supports the work of all practitioners in the city."
Managing partner David Pester received the award on the firm's behalf at an award ceremony on Friday 14th October. The awards were judged by an independent panel which included respected names in industry and the legal sector. Other firms in contention for the award included Osborne Clarke and Irwin Mitchell.
