Managing customers' data

19 September 2008

Commenting on recent media headlines about Government contractors misplacing client data, regulatory specialist Nicola Howell says, "This should be a wake up call for companies to look closely at how they handle their own customer data. Companies should determine whether contractors have access to their customer, marketing or employee data, and ensure that their agreement with the contractor offers an appropriate remedy should that contractor lose or unlawfully share the data. Companies should also check that their contractors have a clear and workable data management policy."
