TLT welcomes new Director of Risk

23 October 2007
TLT has appointed John Verry as its new Director of Risk.

John joins TLT from international risk services provider Lockton, where he was Director of Risk and Quality, providing risk and compliance consultancy advice to major firms.

John is well-known in the risk and compliance field. He has written numerous articles on risk and compliance and has also co-authored a book, ‘Risk and Quality Management in Legal Practice’, published by The Law Society. John speaks regularly at conferences to law firms, training providers and to The Law Society and lectures on risk, practice management, compliance and insurance issues for legal education providers, special interest groups in the Law Society and other professional institutions.

Prior to his role at Lockton, John worked closely with the Managing Partner and senior management team at top 50 City law firm Charles Russell, where he set up and ran the Risk and Compliance Function.

John says, "I'm delighted to be joining such a dynamic and forward-thinking firm. TLT really is ahead of the game in terms of risk management and, in this respect, is already delivering significant benefits to clients."

Managing Partner David Pester at TLT adds, "Risk management is given high priority at TLT because we believe good risk management results in improved service to our clients. TLT already has an extensive risk management programme, which includes strategic planning, internal and external audits, training and guidance, and John's extensive experience will further strengthen our capability in this area."
