Charity support

To us, giving something back means devoting the same energy and effort to the charities we support as we put into our business. We support a range of charities local to our offices in Bristol and London with both cash donations and voluntary work.

Last year, this included working to raise almost £17,000 for our nominated charity of the year, Breakthrough Breast Cancer. TLT staff rose to the challenge with enthusiasm and ingenuity by organising a charity auction, several sky-dives, dress down days and cake sales to help raise the money.

TLT's charity of the year from May 2008 is Macmillan Cancer Support, and our charity committee has some exciting plans to smash last year's fundraising total.

Breakthrough Breast Cancer case study

In March 2008, TLT held its first charity auction and raised almost £9,000 for the Firm's nominated charity of the year, Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

A professional auctioneer, a longstanding friend of TLT's volunteered his time for the evening to help things run smoothly and prizes ranged from a cricket bat signed by the England squad to a day sailing with the managing partner, David Pester.

TLT's people have nominated Macmillan Cancer Support to be the Firm's next charity of the year, and the Charity & Community Committee have already started planning a range of activities to support Macmillan's activities.
